I started a small staffing business and everything else is in place but I need clientelle. What do u suggest?

I heard about internet marketing from a friend. I wanted to expedite the learning process and purchase a system that will help me. I don’t necessarily care about the price, so long as the product works. Thanks!

A potential employer I am talking to does not like the idea of granting stock options. I think he feels that once someone has a piece of the company, they are less motivated to work. Do you have any evidence to the contrary? To me, part ownership compels you to you work HARDER. Are there studies?

I am looking to advertise a new web site upon its completion. I know about being on a search engine, banners, and simple things like that. I am looking for some new creative ways of advertising that have been created by using the web. I am not very familiar with these new internet-based advertising schemes such as network marketing, however, these are the type of things I am looking to learn of and about. In my business, one of the 3 partners is very risk averse. Risk averse to the point that it is hindering our growth. He is afraid to pursue new opportunities out of fear of taking a risk. I’m not referring to reckless decisions, but well thought out, calculated risks, such as expanding our product line or partnering with companies that have complementary product offerings.
We have missed out on several good opportunities because he is afraid to take a risk.
What are some good ways to encourage someone who is risk averse to take a calculated risk now and then?
Any strategies or even books or other sources you can recommend are appreciated.

ways of overcoming trade barriers:
1.contact you local chamber of commerce (ALL cities have some kind of business community representative body, they are called various things) and get their advice. you will not be the only biz having this problem with the country concerned and they will have dealt with the solution before.
2.check to see of your govt allows you to claim a subsidy or tax break when exporting to the country concerned. they might do this to help promote certain industries/goods.
3.meet with your customers in their country at, for example, trade shows, the customer wants to get the best price and he/she might be able to tell you something that only people of that country know. if its not possible to visit them, call your customers and ask them, at the end of the day it is probably in both your interests for you to get your goods into their country (sales for you, lower prices for them).
4. pay for the time of a biz consultant who has EXPERIENCE dealing with your industry and this country, loads on the internet, send them a few Q’s asking if they can help with your SPECIFIC problem or if not , can they point you to a firm who can help.

What is your business. I guss the first thing I would ask you to do is to define your business.

I have been running a home based online travel business, specializing in trips to South America for about 3 years now. I am still trying to find out the best way to spend the money I set aside for marketing/advertising. I found out that trade shows are too expensive and do not produce results I’d hoped for. Is it worthwile hiring a PR/Marketing consultant?
